Gravity Hopper

The game was created for Linux Game Jam 2023. All files in the game are open for commercial and non-commercial use. My team members are listed in the main menu of the game.

FULL DESCRIPTION OF THE GAME:

Players control a small, quirky character who must hop on platforms to reach higher and higher. However, this game introduces an exciting gameplay element - a changing gravity direction.

The core idea of the game is for the player to ascend by jumping from one platform to another, with each platform having a variable gravity direction. This means that when the character lands on a platform, gravity may shift by 90 degrees, and the player must adapt to the new gravity direction to continue hopping onto the next platform.

The game will feature intuitive touch screen controls or keyboard inputs. Players will control the direction of their jumps by tapping the screen or using the "left" and "right" keys. The objective of the game is to make as many successful hops upwards as possible, avoiding obstacles such as moving platforms or broken platforms, while collecting bonuses along the way.

Each platform will have its own height and will be randomly positioned, creating an endless gameplay experience. The game can offer various levels of difficulty, additional obstacles, character upgrades, new thematic worlds, and more.

The graphics will be vibrant and colorful, with funny character designs and cheerful audio to enhance the overall experience. Players will be motivated to achieve higher scores and compete with friends or other players globally through leaderboards.
